iPhone Storage Full, Stuck on home screen

Problem

The iphone storage is full and my iphone 13 got stuck on the home screen when asking me to input the passcode.

Solution

Previously, I had a similar issue and when I went to Apple store, they reset my iphone and of course all unsaved images and videos lost :(

This time, I found a nice article from here. It saves my life.

I solved this issue by following the instruction here. As I am apply it on my iphone13, it is slightly different, however, it works by following the key steps. My Solution:

1. Restart the iPhone: press and release volume up, press and release volume down, then hold the power button (based on iPhone 13, different version iphone might be different)
2. After restart, DO NOT try to input passcode.
3. Use my other phone to call my to be fixed phone and accept the call from my to be fixed phone.
4. Press the plus icon to add someone (you don’t really need to call someone) to the call. Your iPhone will request your passcode, enter it.
5. Then I can go to the home screen and delete APPs. To be safe, I also go to the Setting -> General > iPhone Storage to delete more APP.

Then it works :)

The reason why it works might be related to the step of using the homescreen as mentioned here. By not trying to input the passcode directly, instead, do it through add a person into the group call, it perfectally avoid some memory consuming steps. So it works. Not sure exactly the reason why it works, however, if you have the similar issue, you can try this solution.
